Sleep is something indispensable and since I had troubles getting quality ones lately, I decided to do a personal experiment and get the real figures.

Thus, the Sleep Log journal.

It’s pretty simple. I created a month-long calendar indicating the dates with twenty-four hours each. Highlighted in green are my hours of sleep. So much irregularities as you can see.

Well, I work in the evenings so sleep is bound to fluctuate every now and then.

I might not be doing this challenge in the next few months but at least I got the chance to have a closer look at my sleeping habits and come up with the following conclusions:

  • Weekends have the most irregular sleep schedule.
  • I’ve trained my bio clock to wake up at 6pm on weekdays regardless of the time I sleep.
  • My average daily sleep runs around 5 – 6.5 hours.

I haven’t gotten into the specifics of how the differences in hours affected my performance and work, but I know for myself that I do better if I sleep longer.

Well, there is always a room for improvement.
